Start Program on RDP connection

I am trying to setup a specific RDP connection that will automatically start an application on the remote server (WS2003).  On the client RDC I have checked the box to "Start the following program on connection."  I can get on the server, but I get a warning that the path is incorrect.  I have qaudrupal+ checked the path and that is not the issue.  And I have checked the permissions in the path folders and that is not the issue.  One of the Help sections says it may be because Terminal Services is active? But is must be active for RDP to work so I don't understand that.  Help !  PS:  Not sure what the second field box in the RDC Programs tab "Start in the following folder."

are you following the instructions here ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782233(WS.10).aspx ) i.e drive:\folders\folder\file.exe in the box ?

Can you show us what you are trying to start ? and the syntax of the entry in the start box and the actual location.

Sorry if im asking stupid Q's just want to remove anything simple before we look further.

Pretty simple.  I think my problem is in terminal services.  I probably have to setup up the qbw32pro.exe in terminal services but I have never used TS before other than to enable RDP so I keep getting bogged down there.

if you connect to the server with a standard RDP connection - i.e mstsc, then connect to the server, login to a fill windows session and start the app, does it work ?

also have you installed the app through terminal services i.e

The best way to install software is to use the Add/Remove programs control panel applet as this will automatically set the mode to Install during the installation and then back to Execute at the end. Alternatively you can manually change your mode to install by typing

C:\> change user /install

To change back to execute use

C:\> change user /execute

You could try adding it within the user AD account, or make a separate account just for logging into the server after logging into a PC.  For example - go to an AD user account -> Environment and add the program on startup.
