How can I make AVG Internet Security allow my Adobe CS5 to Update?
I have Adobe CS5 and when I open any of the programs, I go to the Help menue and update the program via internet. Now that I have installed AVG Internet Security, the error says:
" Update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again later".
The settings for AVG is "Allow All" for the programs.
How do I make this work?
Thank you

I've been using AVG for some time and haven't had any difficulties with the firewall. Which version of AVG have you got? AVG 2011 was released recently, you can upgrade to this version for free. I haven't got CS5, so I can't look at my firewall settings and tell you what entries CS5 requires, however, what happens if you temporarily disable the AVG firewall?? Does the CS5 update work withe the firewall off?

I have 2011 but now that I disconnected the firewall, it still does not work. It may be a CS5 thing
when you disabled the AVG firewall, did windows warn you that the firewall was off, if it didn't maybe you've got more than 1 firewall active on your PC.

windows didn't warn me. i don't see an icon to disable the windows one

Windows firewall is off
Are you now getting the windows warning that no firewalls are active on your PC? If not, you need to uninstall all 3rd party firewalls with the exception of the AVG firewall.
Try it in safe mode with networking.
ASKER
No, I never have received any Windows firewall warnings.
What version of windows are you using?
Open control panel, click security centre, expand the firewall settings, what firewall does windows say is running?
