Hi,

does anybody know, how i can write a login form in ExtJS (without AJAX - normal page refresh) and the browser has the possibility to save the password (like firefox)?
I want to use an ExtJS form because of the styling and some other controls...

I followed this
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2944322/extjs-login-with-remember-me-functionality
but it's not working (tested it on firefox and IE8).

thx and regards!

Are you planning to use server side sessions and set client cookies?  you could store an encrypted version (say sha1) of the clients password as a cookie

I know how to do it in PHP just using the $_COOKIE super global.  Sessions should be enabled but just check with your host

eg

// user passes plain text password for validation
$password = $_POST['user_password'];
$pass_encrypted = sha1($password);

if ($pass_encrypted == $_COOKIE['encrypted_password']) {
    // passwords match
}

// you set the cookie like this
$_COOKIE['encrypted_password'] = sha1($password);

of course you could use ajax to achieve the same thing or Mootools / JQuery javascript frameworks can also do it
