Hi Experts,

we have an office communicator server in our office that use for Instant messaging.  It has been working well, but this afternoon people couldn't sign on.

I checked the event viewer and found this warning:

Could not establish application endpoint with OCS on company.fully.qualified.domain.name:5061
Exception: Microsoft.Rtc.Signaling.RegisterException - 504 - The endpoint was unable to register. See the ErrorCode for specific reason.
Inner Exception: ~
The service will retry every 30 seconds.

I tried to search for reference online, but couldn't find much.  Can anyone please help on explaining what might have caused this error message?  thank you very much.

was any certificate on the web server changed/renewed/removed and added again? did you try manually starting the service in services.msc?
any application pool used by the website is in stopped state?

thanks itsmein foryour support.  actually i have no idea if the server was changed in anyway... but later another colleague fixed the issue, but i didn't get any update from him as what was the cause... haha.  I am still clueless even though it is OK now.

But just to follow up on as much as I can.  I see all services were started.  We don't use the Web component, so there was no IIS involved too.  Anyway, I apprecipate your assistance.  thanks!
