conflicting edits in Outlook 2010

It just started happening a few days ago.  Nearly every email that arrives in my inbox has an icon next to it saying that conflicting edits have occurred.  I am asked to open the item and then save one of the (usually three, sometimes only two) versions of the email.

The only problem is I have not edited them at all.  It happens immediately after the email's arrival.

How can I stop this.

puppydogbuddy (great handle):  I tried the workarounds to no avail.  What I failed to mention is that I use MS Exchange.  It appears to be related to the problem.  I have turned off the three desktops that run this Outlook account one at a time and the problem persists.  I turned off my Blackberry, which also uses Exchange,  and alas, the problem has stopped.      I will turn it on again tonight and report if the problem returns.  I have added MS Exchange as a tag to my question.
My MS Exchange host, 123together.com has been alerted to the problem and they, at first glance, do not have a solution.  I have wiped my BB clean and initiated a new connection with MS Exchange.  Alas, the errors still occur in Outlook when the BB is turned on.

The last post by puppydogbuddy, while informative, provides no suggested solution other than turning off email receipt notifications.  I have done that and the error persists.

That is not correct. The link identifies the conflict as mostly a sync conflict between the Blackberry (BB) and MS Outlook that is happening because the user opens the message in Outlook before BES can deliver it to their Blackberry.
 
The best temporary work-around is to let the message get delivered to the Blackberry BEFORE the user goes to open/edit the message in Outlook.
I can be away from my desktop and my Blackberry for several hours, unable to access or touch Outlook, and am greeted by every unopened email showing the error.  The error occurs shortly after the arrival of the email in Outlook with no user action required.
Does the email show up with the error in outlook before or after the Blackberry email is opened?  
The errors show up before any email is opened on either device.   I wake up in the morning to all the overnight emails displaying the error if the BB and Outlook were both on.
