Powerpoint 2003 plays on Windows XP but not Windows 7

I finished up a fairly large Powerpoint presentation using Office 2003.  My laptop currently has Windows XP installed.  I sent the file to my friend who has Office 2003 but the OS is Windows 2007.  He said the slides work but the video clips do not play nor do most of the audio clips.  All of the files can be seen so there's no issue with the files missing.  The only "odd" thing we could see was the one audio clip that does work is referenced as a Media object in the Custom Animation screen where all the other clips depict the file name.  Obviously, I added these files two different ways.

Anyone have an idea how to fix the problem so the presentation can run off the Windws 7 OS?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The code in Windows 7 to play embedded video through PPS has changed. We have encountered this problem at the workplace, and the only option we have thus far is to re-embed the video in Windows 7.
