I am trying to have field that happens to be a Group Header repeat in the Page Header when it is for that group.  It some times messes up and give me the group header for the previous group when a new group starts.  What could be the problem?

Try adding "Keep Group together"

This did not help.

The devil is in the data details...  Maybe the previous group is also restarting.

It probably does, so how does that effect this and what should I do?

Well, if the previous group is breaking, isn't its header also supposed to repeat?

Author

Commented:
Yes.  And it does but hard to tell because it happens to be the same information.

Curious.  Why would the previous header have the same information?

Author

Commented:
I have to group headers printing in the page header.  Group 1 is car makes, then Group 2 is the transmission in that car make so you could have toyota but then have more then one transmission that on into a toyota.  So the Group 1 will be the same information but Group 2 changes to different information.

Okay, that's normal.  Does group 1 also have the repeat header option checked?

Author

Commented:
It was not but I did check it and it still is messing up.

What you're describing is still not clear.

Page 1:
Toyota
  Automatic
    (page full of automatics)

Page 2:
Toyota
  Automatic
    (More automatics)

On page 2, unless you've checked the repeat header for group A, "Toyota" should not appear again.  Is that what's happening?

Author

Commented:
Group A is apprearing but Group B is not changing.

Page 1:
Toyota
  Automatic 1
(page full of parts for this automatic)
Page 2:
Toyota
   Automatic 2
(page full of parts for this automatic)

for page two instead of the Automatic 2 showing Automatic 1 is showing with the parts below for the Automotic 2.

Have you checked for strange conditional formatting formulas in the header section, or the actual formula for the group (if it's not a raw field)?

Author

Commented:
Not sure if this matters but there are two groups below these but I am not using these headers for anything and all the parts listed are in subreports because they are all formated differently depending on what they are....  Very confusing report.

Upload it.  With saved data, if you can.

It is currently messing up on page 208. The C4/C5 should be C6.  Hope this works.

1. Expand Group Header 2
2. Move {OCRD.Cardname} from the page header into that section
3. Do a Fit Section on the page header
4. Set Group 2 to repeat group header

Author

Commented:
Thanks we are close.  Now I have a blank page on 4 except for the header.  And I have a two group 2 headers on page 104.  See attached.

For page 4, Turn off the Keep Together option on subreport GH3ac.

For the other one, I don't know, that's one of those you need to keep tweaking the layout until it works.  Or maybe it was a data issue, I just can't tell.

This did fix the one problem but I still have more problems now.
