How to convert old .PST file to Outlook 2007 (higher capacity) file

I've done this before, but I can't find my references to the procedures.  We have a user with an older format Outlook .PST file (probabaly dating to 2000 or 2003).  He ran up against the capacity limit for his inbox.

What are the steps for converting his .PST file to the newer, higher capacity file in 2007?

Old PST files support only 2 GB. They are called as ANSI PST files. The new files which started with Outlook 2003 are called as UNICODE PST files which support till 20 GB and more. In Outlook 2010 it is 50 GB.

You need to create a new PST file and move all the content from OLD PST to new PST.

In Outlook 2007 click on File and select new--> Outlook Data file
It will take you to the location where you can save that file. Once this is done then you would be able to see both the PST files in Outlook.

Now manually move all the files and folders from old PST to New PST. If you dont want to move manually , then just do import from old PST file

Then you need to set default as the new PST file in account settings. If you have any difficulty, then let me know.
