Backing up Exchange 2003 with Backup Exec 2010.

I am needing to setup a new backup server. My current backup server is running server 2003. My new server is running 2008 R2. I know Exchange 2003 will not work on 2008 R2, but does Backup Exec still require Exchange management tools?

Hmm, it has been a while, but I thought that you did have to install the Exchange Management Tools on your media server at the same SP level as your Exchange Server.   You install a Remote Agent on the Exchange Server but the Exchange Agent is actually an option installed on your media server.
I also think you are supposed to install them before BE.  You also used to need to install the MAPI Client and Collaboration Tool.  here are some notes to that effect.

As Sreedhar has stated, you do not need Exchange tools, only the Backup Exec MS Exchange Agent on the BE Media server used to backup your Exchange DB's
