Norton Ghost -- Windows install key ?

I did a fresh install of Windows XP,
created a Norton Ghost, and want to
use this GHOST image on another PC,
but change to the correct windows
install key instead of the 2nd PC
having the same windows install
key as the 1st PC.

How is this possible ?

If not, how can I create a GHOST image
and be able to enter the windows install
key when I put the GHOST image on another PC ?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

rbudj's comment is correct for changing the key but can be problematic in network environments.  When you clone machines, you also clone their Security IDs which are randomly created at boot.  It has been shown that for many things, this is not a big problem, but a few can still be an issue.  Therefore, you need to run SYSPREP BEFORE you create the image.  This resets the security information (including the key) to ensure the system is considered "unique" once it's restored.

You need to download the version of Sysprep that matches your OS and service pack level - see:

And if you do this frequently, I wouldn't waste the money on ghost - microsoft offers many advanced deployment tools for free - MDT, WDS, WAIK, MAP (Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit) - Google them - "Microsoft MDT", for example.
