Hello,
I had XP compatibilty mode running on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit machine awhile back.  I then uninstalled it to save some space.  Today I downloaded it again from here (followed the directions):

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

and I installed  Windows XP Mode, when I try to install Virtual PC or XP Mode Update I get a dialog box that states that these updates have already been installed. I restarted my machine but do not have Windows Virtual PC as an option in "All Programs".

Please advise,
Thanks,
JE

When you initially "Removed" the Virtual PC software, did you do so from "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features ->Turn Windows Features on or off->Windows Virtual PC"  or did you do so some other way.  Because if it was not removed from this method.  The system does not know it has been removed and it will have to be uninstalled by this method.

Are you sure that you uninstalled XP mode from the add/remove programs menu?

I had to use Turn Windows Features On or Off and turn ON the virtual machine. I don't know anything about the windows features on / off thing. Thanks.

The bottom line is, you said you UNinstalled it. How did you uninstall it?

Oh i see, you were able to turn it on from there, as you had not deleted the files.  Good, I was afraid you had just deleted a bunch of system files.
