Trend Micro Client/Server/Messaging 3.6 Upgrade Path

elad123 used Ask the Experts™
I currently look after 50 users (50 workstations / 5 servers) currently we are using: Trend Micro Client Server Messaging Security for SMB  Version: 3.6

My company wants to stay with trend micro products, I can also see Trend have: Worry-Free Business Security Standard.

To me it is extremely unclear if this product supersedes Trend Micro CMS or not. On the Australian Trend Micro website it recommends Trend Micro CMS for small business and Worry Free for Medium business. On the US site however it suggest that Worry Free has superseded it.

It also has no explanation for upgrading and licensing etc. Can anyone shed some light on this? specifcally If I performed an upgrade from:

Trend Micro Client Server Messaging Security for SMB  Version: 3.6 > Worry-Free Business Security Standard. what happens to my existing user licenses are they still valid?

If it was me I would give Trend Micro sales department a call.  They will offer you the best advice and it would come directly from Trend Micro.
If you have purchased a maintenance agreement with TrendMicro, you are able to upgrade to the latest version of the product already being run without charge.
If no maintenance agreement was purchased, you will likely have to purchase *new* licensing as you will not be entitled to the product upgrade.  Going to another TrendMicro product will also trigger the requirement to purchase new licensing.
As goldeneagle3333 stated.  Give Trend a call to discuss. They will point you to the product you should be running.  I am in a large environment, so we are running OfficeScan.  Not too familiar with the two offerings you've mentioned.

Do you have an annual license agreement with TrendMicro? If so I would wait until it is up for renewal then contact the TrendMicro client support team or account manager for the best upgrade path if it is required.

There is no information on the website stating that your version will no longer be supported.
There should be some kind of split on this one, pertinent info was offered and expanded on here.
