How do I open an Invalid File

The computer was shut down improperly, while working in two different programs.  Now when I go to open my Lotus 123 file, an error message appears.  It says the the file is invalid or I have the wrong file extension.  I've tried to change the file extension but nothing seems to work.  How can I retrieve the information in that file?

sounds like its corrupt. Do you have Excel or access to Excel? perhaps try opening it via Excel?
you tried right click, open with then select Lotus? and/or open the file from Lotus. Im guessing it will still fail

I've not tried to open it with Excel.  I've only tried to change the file extension to see if it will open, but with no luck.  I'll try to open the file with Excel and see if it works.

ok, good luck

you might need some file recovery tools possibly if you have zero luck with other suggestions

The file was corrupt and unable to open in any other program.  I did need to call in some big guns to help out.
