WSUS clear "Updates waiting to be approved"
I've have recently installed a new WSUS server. After the initial synchronisation, the To Do shows 3227 security updates are waiting to be approved, 466 critical updates to be approved.
How do I approval all the necessary updates? I have turned on Automatic Approvals and done a Server Cleanup, but it still show that.

You need to select them and click right mouse button and choose ?Approve". But before create computer groups for your clients.

But when I click on the approve link, it directs me to "Approval: Unapproved" and Status "Any".
A lot of the update says "This updated is superseded by another update"
When I change the Status to "Needed", the list is blank.
So should I just ignore the waiting to be approved list or is there a way to clear those unnecessary ones?

Run in WSUS console under "Options" node "Server Cleanup Wizard" it should remove all unnecessary updates from your server (select all checkboxes). After that check again

I have already done the "Server Cleanup Wizard", with all the boxes checked.
But it still showed under To Do - the same number of security updates and critical updates to be approved.

so, they require your attention, you have to reject them if you are sure that they are superseded or accept them. They will be accepted by no distributed
