We are looking at implementing a Websense web filtering server on our network that would be connected to our Pix 501 v6.3. Is it compatible with our Pix model and IOS software version ?

Thanks

Thanks Kvistofta. Do you know if the use of such a Websense server slows down a lot the browsing on each user's pc ? Is Websense something you would strongly recommend for web filtering or would you suggest something else ?

If the websense server is properly sized it wont slow down user experience noticable. Web filtering is good for antivirus-scanning but categorizing web pagers not a very sharp tool. You will always have sites not properly categorized.

What would you recommend as a properly sized websense server (cpu, ram, etc)  for a network of 25 users ?

Commented:
25 is a really low number, you can safely look at the system requirements for websense and anything beyond that will be enough.

I ran websense on a PIX 515 years ago.  Websense ran on a Compaq/HP P4 single CPU with 1gb ram...   it ran just fine for 150 users with no noticeable slow down in service.   IF there had been I would have heard about from the end-users.

I'm certain any hardware you buy today can handle 25 users just fine.
