Update License in Symantec Endpoint Protection

I have a client with Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP henceforth) v.11.0.5.  They recently renewed for another year and received a serial and customer number in a pdf.  I successfully logged in to the symantec licensing portal, added the new license to the catalog and registered it.  Once that was completed I could then download a new slf license file in the portal.  My issue is this: how in the heck do I install this license?  I can't find an old slf in the program files folders anywhere.  So close yet so far...
