Backup Exec 11d - Policy based backups

We are revamping our backup policeis to make them more efficient.  Typically we run full backups over the weekend, and incrementals all week long.  This is not working for us anymore as data has increased, and full backups are now running into Monday.

I know how to create a policy that includes a Full template, and Incremental template.  How do I add specific selection lists to the full and different selection lists to the Incremental.  Or is there a better way to do this.  Basically I'm looking to full backup certain servers everyday, and incrementals of the rest.

You would need to create 2 different policies with different selection lists to do what you're proposing.

You may want to look into the Continuous Protection aspect of Backup Exec. I've never used it but it looks like it might be right for what you want to do. Basically every time a change is made to a server, it sends that change to the backup server to be stored in case of failure. This way you don't need a backup window anymore.
