OCS telephony integration

We have OCS 2007 (not R2) and our telephony system is Avaya.

In the past, when you get a call at your desk (on one of the Avaya phones) Communicator was integrated with it.  You would get a communicator popup letting you know who was on phone conversation and how long the conversation had been.  It would also alter your status to "busy."

Recently this integration has stopped working.  What changed?  the certificate on the telephony server expired.  It was expired for a couple of days.  This is when these functions stopped working.  They now have a new certificate in place.  The functions still don’t work.  The telephony team says it’s not them it's the OCS servers.

Is this functionality from the telephony side or the OCS side?

Thanks!

Susan

Thanks Avishar.  RCC is enabled in OCS.  Everything was good until the avaya servers got a new certificate.  I passed on the links that you gave me to the telephony team to see if they missed a requirement with the certificate.

I'll update you when I hear back from them.

Thanks!

Susan
Most likely the new certificate is either (a) not configured identical to the old certificate and a required FQDN is missing or (b) a different CA was used to issue the new certificate and the OCS server does not correctly trust the certificate chain.
