This happen only on some users whenever they open the document, either from their network place or sharepoint site, the document open as "read-only", they will get the error below when they are trying to save it.

"Documents in this folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or networking problems may be preventing a connection to the server"

Help desk has tried to update again all the windows updates but still not clues. User has IE8, office 2007 and Windows XP for his new machine. This only happen to some people.

Does anyone know the solution for this? Thanks.

On the user machine, please .
Try again, it should work.
Also check the same from your or some different machine with login id password of user & check what happens. This will let you know whether it is a machine issue or permission issue.
If Machine Issue: Delete SharePoint Drafts Folder in My Documents & try again.
If Permission Issue: Re-inherit & re-assign permissions & make sure no-where user has limited access only.

Please check with same credentials (loginid & password) on different machine,
this will let us know is this related to machine specific or not...
