Folder redirection and home folders

Could anyone please tell me which are the differences between home folder and redirecting folders through group policies ?

I ve just found that many users a client's site have "home folder" set to a share on the server. (this was done in the past by another guy). Thats the same share Ive used to redirect my documents and desktop.

Wonder if there could be any conflict by having these two settings set at the same time.
Also, I had to disable folder redirection yesterday and I set the policy was to bring contents back to the original location (local folders on desktops machines)

What would happen now ?!?!

Thanks for any help

Hi KCTS,

I guess its pointless. Thats why I really would like to know exactly home folders are for

What I dont understand, do home folders work the same way as folder redirection ?
What if after disabling the folder redirection GPO the folders are not moved back to the original location because of the home folder setting ?

Good guide. Didnt clarify what  I was exactly asking but guided me through.
