network confirguration - small
I have 5 computers and we want to use one of them as our server. We do not have Microsoft Server application. We are using Windows 7 on all of them. What would be the best configuration to hook these up and use one as a "server'. We want it basically to share our documents.

No - there is no Lan set up between the machines. How do we share the folder or create the "server" machine to share the folder on it.
You do not have to create a "Server" as such. a normal windows 7 machine will work just fine.
If you have a windows 7 machine that you can login into and have all the machines connected via a network cable and router, the steps listed in first post should take you to a happy network.

If so, one way to share documents would be to create a shared folder on the "server" machine and then map it as a drive in explorer on the other four machines.
It doesn't give you any hardware or software redundancy though.
