Sharepoint Server 2010 Publishing Site with Team Site Features

I have created a sharepoint Server 2010 site using the Publishiong Portal template. The reason I chose this template is because it will be an Internet facing site and we need to improve the look and feel as well as hide the ribbon.

I want to add features from the Team Site template such as Calendar to this site or a sub-site but can see no way of acheiving this.

Has anybody any experience with this sort of problem?

Thanks in advance,

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I solved the problem by adding the following features from Site Settings:

Group Work Lists
Team Collaberation Lists

From Site Settings|Page Layout and Site Template Settings add the required Subsite Template
