Sql Server Linked Server to MySQL 5.1

Hi there

I am trying to delete an entry in a MySQL table using a LINKED Server from SQL Server, but I am getting the error:  "Binary logging not possible. Message: Transaction level 'READ-COMMITTED' in InnoDB is not safe for binlog mode 'STATEMENT'".

I can select data from the linked MySQL server fine, and I am using OLE DB  Provider for ODBC Drivers and using MySQL ODBC driver v 5.01.07.00

MySQL is version 5.1.51, SQL Server is SQL Server 2005

Code I am using is:

declare @table_id int
set @table_id = 1

delete from OPENQUERY(mysqltest, 'select * from testtable')
where TABLE_ID =  @table_id

Open in new window

Thanks

David

Make sure you also put the following in your my.cnf or my.ini config file on the server, otherwise the
next time it is rebooted, you lose that setting:

binlog_format = mixed
