my server is showing a RED status Alert

I have a dell poweredge 2900 server and i'm getting the red status alert. What can this mean and what can I do to fix it?

You see this in management software or physically on the server?
Do you have Dell System Admin/Manager installed?
Is it reporting anything?
Server still up?
Check power supplie(s)?

If you mean the LCD is showing amber instead of blue, it should display an error code (assuming you can still read the LCD-this is a common Dell issue) and you can find the meaning of the code here:

The display should be scrolling the error... And we are all assuming you are referring to an amber color, not red correct?

server is up , no I don't have the Dell system adm/manager installed. The error is physically on the server led window.

E1310 RPM Fan 4

mavaks, I looked at that link and when i click on how to troubleshoot it takes me to dell but it says page no longer available.

Sounds like one of your fans is failing.  Get your support technician in there and have him replace the fan.  

I know this is experts exchange but you don't sound like you're the right person to be opening up a server.

thanks, that helped and I will open the server up and reset the fan or replace it.
