I am trying to install Exchange 2010 on a new server. We currently have Exchange 2003 installed on another server, and Windows 2003
domain controller(s). At one point I did have a test exchange 2007 server installed that is no longer online due to a hardwre failure.  I am getting the error:

Error:
Coexistence between Exchange Server 2010 and Exchange Server versions older than Exchange Server 2007 SP2 in the same Active Directory Site is not supported.

Any thoughts? I have tried to do the setup /prepare.. with Exchange 2007, same issue.

Thanks

If you had an old exchange 2007 server that was not uninstalled correctly, then you will need to use adsiedit to remove the old objects.  Once that is done, run the schema prep again then try the install
