Help: RewriteCond/RewriteRule in .htaccess for Joomla (URL replacement)

Hi Experts,

I need to add a redirec rule on my existing .htaccess for URL:
example.com/index.php/en/products/cat/3937/...
Redirected to:
example.com/en/products/cat/3937/...

How does the RewriteCond & RewriteRule looks like?

My existing .htaccess(provided by my Joomla 1.5 box) is following:

Something like this might work:

RewriteCond ${REQUEST_URI} ^/index.php/.+
RewriteRule ^/index.php/(.+) /$1

Thanks drcheap for your input, but it seems NOT doing the redirect at all with the '/index.php/' in the URL.
Here is the modified .htaccess:(RewriteRule added at the end of it).
I have tried to put it in different locations in the file, same result.
