Do i need a cisco switch?

Hello,
I'm just thinking about to start new company and i have question about the networking. My plan is that i will have one Server which will host Active directory DHCP,DNS and exchange. Question is if i need to have cisco for this.  it will be small company arround 10 people with possible grown to 15-20 people at all. Btw does exist some cheap alternative to cisco switch?

thanks

Hi, we use Enterasys switches at our college you can get a 24 port with 2 Fibre ports for around £1000. They are managed and have Power over ethernet which is worth considering for access points and phones etc, so you don't need power socket for the devices.

SecureStack A2 is the model we use mostly, hope this helps.

You might consider the Cisco Small Business series that came out of Linksys.
SRWxxxxx are the models.
These are low cost managed switches.

Then too you might start with a simple switch that's not managed unless you're going to be doing some heavy networking stuff.  Simple file sharing and internet access shouldn't need it.
There are lots of these available and I'd not have much brand preference.
