Convert string to checkbox

I am using VB from Visual Studio 2010.

I have a number of checkboxes on a form. The status of these checkboxes is saved into a text file, along with the name of the checkbox.

To display the data from this text file, my app goes through the file line by line, reading the name and status.

How do I convert the string containing the name of the checkbox into the control name, so I can do something with it?

For example, the name of the checkbox is read into a variable called strChkBxName.

I want to be able to use this statement or similar to tick or untick the checkbox-

frmMyForm.strChkBxName.checked=true

...but this does not work. How do I use the data in the string?
