Windows 7 upgrade failed because of a path being too long

Hi all, my windows 7 upgrade from Vista failed, and now it is stuck in the rollback reboot loop.  I found out that there is a file path that is continious.  For example:  c:\users\USER\Documents\Documents\Documents\Documents\Documents .  The forums suggest moving or deleting the subfolders, but it just tells me that the path is too long.  I even have it hooked up to a second computer.  I renamed as many folders to just "a" to shorten the path, but it keeps going and going.  I must have renamed 300 folders, and there's no end in sight.  I also tried sharing one of the deep folders and deleting it from a remote computer, that did not work either.  What can i do????
