How do I get my eSATA port working on my Gigabyte P55M-UD2?
I have a PC with 8 drives. 1 ssd, 3 hard drives, 3 dvd drives and 1 blu-ray drive. The motherboard only has 7 internal sata ports; 5 on the Intel controller and 2 on the Gigabyte controller. There is also an eSATA port so I thought I would be able to connect my 8th drive (the blu-ray drive) through this.
I bought an eSATA to SATA cable and connected it up but nothing was detected. Not sure if it's detected in BIOS becasue I have it set to ACHI mode which means none of the drives show in the BIOS. It does list them at boot but its too fast to tell if its there or not but I don't think its there. I need ACHI mode for my SSD (bad performance in IDE mode).
Latest drivers for each controller are installed. Any ideas?
