Exchange 2007 SP2 upgrade - CMS Problems!
Please help! Upgraded Exchange 2007 to sp2 today and all upgrades (Hub/eCAS, Node1 and Node2) completely successfully. however I am rec'g an error from the Information Store.. the clustered mailbox needs to be upgraded before it can be brought online. When I try to rerun setup /upgradecms, it tells me the versions are the same. :o( what am I doing wrong here?? I have to have system up and running soon!
I ran into this a few months ago but don't remember the specifics, sorry.
The problem was one of the two nodes had a reg key that would not remove the in progress or setup. Check out both servers registry and believe it was here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR E\Microsof t\Exchange \v8.0\<Rol e>\Configu redVersion
One will have another entry will have install or something like that.

mailbox role on both show configured version and unpacked version at 8.2.176.2

clusteredmailbox server on secondary node shows buildtobuldupgrade... no clusteredmailbox server on primary node...

reazone - those are the steps that I took to upgrade, did me no good. :o(
so you have node that is active and the dbs are up correct? And when you attempt o failover it fails and gives you a message and it mismatch. If so attempt to rerun the setup on the passive. What I found is the setup bits didn't see exchange installed but was botched up after the so install. So rerun and see what happens.

Node is active, however information store will not come online, states that the cluster resource could not be brought online which in turn means our databases are down. reran all setups and problem remains... blah!
Did you upgrade the CMS after upgrading the passive cluster node update?
