When trying to start Microsoft Outlook 2010 nothing happens!

Microsoft Outlook 2010 does not start when I either click the short cut or trying to open it via the Start menu. It seems to happen something a couple of seconds after having clicked (there is a rotating cursor for a while), but then nothing happens. If I reboot the computer it is OK to start it again, but this is an awkward way of starting Outlook... Maybe it was a bit premature to jump on the Office 2010 suite???
