Win 7 Doesn't Recognize Sansa Media Player

I bought a refurbished Sansa Fuze Media Player.  Win 7 Home Prem said it "doesn't recognize it and it has probably failed".  The supplier sent me another one which they checked before sending.  I get the same message  from Win 7 for it.

The Fuze says it's connected  but nothing downloads to it from Win Media Player.  The Windows and the Sandisk support sites don't solve the problem.  The Sandisk Driver page doesn't work to download drivers (is there an alternate source?)  Windows tries to get drivers and fails.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
