I am having a mysql table with one of the columns having datetime type. I am having problem in reading that datetime field to a variable in java.

String query = "select time from emp order by time desc limit 1";
ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery(query);
current = rs.getObject(0);
What should be the type of current. I tried with Timestamp, Date and type casting rs.getObject(0) to the respective type. But this is giving me an error all the time.

What type should I use for current?
