Ethernet Controller not being detected in windows vista

Last Modified: 2012-06-27
Hello all,

I have a customers computer here where the ethernet will not work. I have looked in device manager and indeed, only the wireless adapter is showing up. Normally this would be a mainboard issue, but after chucking another hard drive in and installing windows XP which saw it straight away (albeit with no driver) its looking to be a software issue.

The Computer is an Acer Aspire L3600, one of those tiny nettops that are as integrated as notebooks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Its running Windows Vista SP1, i am about to upgrade it to SP2, i am not against performaing a repair/upgrade install if you guys believe that will fix it
