in our new exchange environment (2 hub transport servers, 2 mail servers, 1 ISA server), there is a delay in sending messages through a program that my company has built
its using smtp, but there is a 15 second delay from the time that we click on the "send email" button, to when we get an "email sent" notification
we also have an exchange 2003 server on site, and when we relay off that, it works perfect, the send notification pops up immediately.
any ideas? i was reading something about tarpitting, but it doesnt seem to be enabled, any way to check for sure?
it seems as if its exactly 15 seconds, every single time, which leads me to believe that its a server setting, but i cant seem to find anything on it
a little history- the name of our dommain is COMPANY1, it also hosts 4 other domains, (one of the other 4 domains is having the problem when sending the email, we will call them COMPANY2)
could this be something that i can look into? maybe its delaying the relay of the message due to the domains of the email addresses being different? any other ideas? its a new exchange 2007 environment, maybe something is enabled by default?
