User folder missing or hidden from c:\users

A user (which is an admin user) on Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) has had their User folder vanish from c:\Users.

Oddly it is still there if you navigate to it directly, and there is a "system folder" on the desktop.

I am stumped, but I want it back to "normal" and would live your advice! Thanks!

Here is a screencast of the problem. I hope it helps. (Happy to provide others if needed)

Open a elevated (run as administrator) command prompt, then copy and paste the command below in it and press enter to see if that may unhide it for you.

attrib +r -s -h %USERPROFILE% /S /D

To run cmd as Admin: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/181765-elevated-command-prompt.html
attrib +r -s -h %USERPROFILE% /S /D

or

Open command prompt
pushd c:\users
attrib +r -s -h TAM /S /D

Thanks! That did the trick! Sure would love to know how it vanished in the first place if you might happen to know. Well done! Thanks for the prompt, accurate reply!

It seems name of your profile was changed. But this is not the only reason. It may happen that you haven't touched it at all. Don't have much idea in that that case...
