SharePoint Foundation 2010 sync users and user pictures

I'm using SharePoint Foundation 2010 and wanted to know if it is possible to sync domain users and user pictures with from Active Directory to SharePoint Foundation. I know it's possible with SharePoint Server but (as far as I know) Foundation does not have the User Profile Service.

If not, do I have to manually add each users picture?

You are right. This is "not" impossible, but the needed tools are not present at Foundation 2010.
You have to write a tool that will transfer that information from active-directory to sharepoint, or do it manually for each user, or update to Sharepoint Server 2010.
