Hi There

I have a strange issue. A users was running out of space on his mailbox on the Exchange Server so I Archived a whole lot of emails which brough his OST down to 1.6GB From 2GB. However his mailbox on the exchange Server is still sitting on 2GB.

Any ideas?

Thanks

This is because the messages would still be in the Mailbox Dumpster.
You have check the Option of "Keep Deleted Items" on the Store Level.
Usually this would be 30 days for the Mailb Items.
So which means that even though you deleted the mails, it is still there in the Dumpster.

Was a problem with the way I was archiving. Items that were moved to folders had a different date stamp to that of when they were received.
