I'd like to change the blackberry enterprise server SA password.  Is there any reason why I just change it?  Does BES use it at all?

Not the service account.  The SQL SA account.  We use an AD service account, but I want to change the SA account for the sql instance.

Hi,

Yes it can use an SA account, although you may want to create a dedicated account within SQL Server.

You can create the SQL account under Security, Logins within SQL Management Studio.

You will then need to assign the account the correct roles to the BESMgmt and BMSStore Databased (latter is only for monitoring)

You might need to change SQL Server to support Windows and SQL Authentication, if this isn't already done.

You will also need to change the database connectivity settings in BlackBerry Configuration Manager and enter the username and password you created above.

Before you make any changes to your live environments, make sure you back up everything and confirm the backup was successful.

You might want to try this first in your test/pre-prod environment prior to release into Live.
