WAS - Creating Job Manager Profile

Hi,

I want to create the Job Manager profile using cmdline with manageprofiles.

I have chosen the "Management" as template using -templatePath

But its creating the Deployment Manager profile instead of Job Manager.

I realized from GUI install on other widows box that the default option selected when Management profile chosen is Dmgr profile.

I want to know how to create the Job Manager profile using  manageprofiles.

A quick response is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rishi

I'm sorry, but I'm confused.  What do you mean when you say that you want to "create THE Job Manager profile" (emphasis mine).

What would THE Job Manager profile be?

Why couldn't you just use the Job Manager for an existing profile?

Here is the documentation for the Job Manager:

No HnorGod,

In WAS 7 we have a new profile template called "Management"

Normally when we create a profile using manageprofilles command, we use single template which creates single profile (Ex: "default" template will create only Application Server profile and nothing else)

But three kinds of profiles are collated into "management" template in WAS 7 (DMGR,JobManager & Admin Agent)

The Job manager itself is a profile like DMGR or Application Server.

I think I have to use "-serverType" parameter with manageprofiles command to mention the value as Job Manager or admin agent (As default is Dmgr)

The above info is there in the link you have provided as part of another question I have closed.

Let me try out this.

Thanks,
Rishi

Thanks Rishi.  That helps.

> In WAS 7 we have a new profile template called "Management"

That is correct.

> But three kinds of profiles are collated into "management" template in WAS 7 (DMGR,JobManager & Admin Agent)

That is correct.  Thank you for demonstrating your knowledge of this new profile template.  Many people are unfamiliar with it.

Super.  I really appreciate the fact that you are communicating information about your status, and progress.  Please let me know what I can do to help.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

yes you need  to define -serverType see the example syntax..

manageprofiles.bat -create -templatePath %WAS_HOME%\profileTemplates\management -profilePath %WAS_HOME%\profiles\<dir_of_job_manager_profile> -profileName name_of_job_manager_profile> -serverType JOB_MANAGER

manageprofiles.bat -create -templatePath %WAS_HOME%\profileTemplates\management -profilePath %WAS_HOME%\profiles\<dir_of_admin_agent_profile> -profileName <name_of_admin_agent_profile> -serverType ADMIN_AGENT

it is documented in infocenter see the following link

HonorGod & AdmiRAM,

Thanks for the information.

Yes, as AdminRAM told the infocenter is the place where we can find the updated information on WAS.

But we are working for a banking client where we have lot of security controls and internet is not available on workstations. We have few browsing PCs where we cannot spend much time.

I am a member of EE bcoz of the above reason.

Rishi
