Sage Acc 50 Report designer was unable to generate the report, no data was returned - not creating PDFs

Hi all,

having trouble with sage here, when the user reconciles the accounts no pdfs are being created i had this problem before, i solved it by using CPAU to run sage as an administrator, it seemed the software needed admin rights.

but all of a sudden it isnt working again and we either get the error "Report designer was unable to generate the report, no data was returned" or we get no error and no pdf is created

anyone come across this? where running sage on windows 7

thanks

There is a known issue.

The solution is to turn off uac.

Reboot

it should now work.

switch on uac, should still work.

reboot and should still work.

Unfortunately, sometime it reverts to not working after the reboot, repeating the process has worked for me on some occasions, but I also have had to leave uac turned off on one installation.

You ran this as administrator with UAC turned off?

That result suggest you were running a report that resulted in no records.
Eg a statement for someone who didn't owe anything.

Can you confirm that running the same report to preview works with no problems.

Can you please state which report you ran.

Am I correct that was working on this machine using Windows 7 for sometime and has only recently stopped working.

Are there any changes that have been made since it was working.  New applications installed, upgrades, add ons..

Which version of Sage 50 are you running?

Is this the 32 bit or 64 bit version of W7?

If 64 bit then try this.

Download and install the Amyuni Document Converter

   1. Close all programs, right-click the Windows desktop and choose New then choose Folder. For the folder name, type Amyuni 64bit Driver.
   2. Open https://www.quickbase.com/up/ba8uqfzbq/g/rd/eg/va/Amyuni_PDF_Converter_64bit.zip save it in the folder
   3. Once the download is complete, close all windows.
   4. From the Windows desktop, open the Amyuni 64bit Driver folder then right-click the Amyuni_PDF_Converter_64bit.zip file and choose Extract All.
   5. Follow the steps in the Extraction Wizard to unzip the file contents into the Amyuni 64bit Driver folder. When prompted for the password, type amyuni.
   6. Once the files are extracted, from the Amyuni 64bit Driver folder, double-click Install.exe.
   7. Once the installation is complete, in the Amyuni Document Converter window click OK.
   8. To check the PDF driver installed correctly:
Open the Windows Start menu then choose Printers.
Check that a printer called Amyuni Document Converter appears.
   9. From the printers list, right-click Amyuni Document Converter, choose Rename and rename the printer driver to SagePDFPrinter.
  10. Close all windows then restart your PC.

You have now downloaded and installed the Amyuni Document Converter to replace the SagePDFPrinter.

File>Open>Demodata

Will give you a set of demo data to try things with.

Can you just try printing a report to pdf first (A statement perhaps)
