css li height width issue

I think I just need some fresh eyes here: http://getwordpressed.com/testing1/

Can someone give me a hand on the menu at the top? I can't seem to force the height and width of the <li> tags. The id is #menu. The height should be 41px and width 112px so the background image displays correctly. (I removed all my attempts at setting the height and width. No matter how or where I put them, the size doesn't change.)

I haven't set the font yet, but it will need to stay centered with equal padding so that the buttons with two words breaks into two lines.
