I am trying to sync an Ipad with our exchange server.  I have done research on the internet and i am still unclear which server we should list.  The domain controller\ exchange server inside the network is server.domain.local.  Our external domain name is different (remotedomain.info.)  Which server should we list when trying to sync with our exchange server.

TIA

under domain name you need to use the netbios domain name and the server address is your mail.company.com that you would use for OWA (in your case "remotedomain.info")

iPads use web services through OWA to sync your Exchange.

Thanks.  does it matter if we are inside the network or outside the network when we try to sync?

as long as you have access to owa from the outside it will just work. If you connect with Wifi in your office, depending on how your domain is setup, you may need to add a static zone entry in DNS that points the private address of the server to remotedomain.info. So, when users are inside they can still use the public url and access the private IP of the server (assuming your firewall does not allow traffic out then back in).
