How do I rename a Chinese font in c:\Windows\Fonts?

I can't even copy the font from c:\Windows\Fonts. I need to rename Chinese fonts (written with Chinese characters) because I have an application that doesn't accept any fonts that are named with non-Western characters.

Now, when right-clicking on the Chinese font, the option "Rename" is grey-faded so it's not selectable.

I have Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.

do it in safe mode

You may need to start by making your computer comparable with Asian languages.

Follow these instructions for XP. http://moosenose.com/Enabling%20International%20XP.htm

This procedure will also install Chinese character fonts (with Western names) that should work in your application.
