Unable to run eseutil on public folder store

Hi experts
We had a customers exchange server go down after the log file corrupted. Both the private and public folder stores dismounted.
We were able to run eseutil successfully on the private folder store and this store is now back on and operational and has been for 2 days.

However when we run eseutil on the public folder store, we run into the cant find jcb.dll. callback error. This only happens when trying to run eseutil on the PUBLICS.

We have tried and followed several of the posts relating to this issue but still have the same problem. Additionally we have copied the public folder files .stm and .edb into the \bin directory and still have the same problem

Running eseutil /mh displays the database is in dirty shutdown. Its a only a small database and we are sure running a repair will solve this problem for us.

Any adivce as to why we have the continuing JCB error ?

many thanks

You have two options

1) Run eseutil /p on another computer than copy the database back to server
How to run Eseutil on a computer without Exchange Server
All you need to do is copy the 4 or 5 dll's mentioned in the KB to the non-exchange computer and run the eseutil commands.
Better still, just copy the entire bin folder to this other machine, if you don't wanna sift through those dlls and exe's. Change your directory to the bin folder and run any command u like with the eseutil.exe.
If you are planning to run offline defrag on a database with eseutil.exe, make sure you copy the bin folder or the dll files to a drive that has about 125% of the database size as free space on the disk.

2) add /3GB switch in boot.ini on the Exchange server for eseutil /p
After adding the /3GB you will be able to run eseutil successfully
Once the eseutil /p is complte than you can remove the /3GB switch

Hope this helps.
