call controll from Javascript, my action in controller return actionResult

HI,

I have Controller "Home" with ActionName "Index", this action return ActionReult.

I have button "open".

on click event of button "open", i want to pass an id to action "Index".

So i need to call first javascript and then call contoller to pass this ID.

my action should return actionResult.

How to call controller action using javascript.
