pc audio recording software

Hello - We are looking for a program to capture the audio of meetings in our office.  Right now we are using "recordpad" which is installed on our conference room computer.  There is a microphone-type device on the table connected to the computer.  RecordPad was doing an OK job but recently has been causing problems.  For instance, some of our meetings run a couple hours and the software will either hang up or stop at 60 minutes even if we set maximum length of recording to 120 minutes.  It's bad enough to be in a 2 hour meeting but then to have the recording be no good makes it even worse.

Ultimately what we would like to have would be audio recording software that will start recording and when a certain point is reached, save what is recorded and then start a new file so the amount of audio lost in the event of failure is limited to a smaller window. For example, if the interval is set to 15 minutes, then a 2 hour recording would be broken into 8 segments.  Hopefully this makes sense.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It worked.  Didn't see how we could automate the breaking up of audio file, but it's a heck of a lot more stable than anything else we tried.   One minor drawback is it doesn't record as mp3.  You need to convert after the fact so initial file size was a bit large.
