I just got an android that needs the firmware to be update. The touchscreen is faulty, and only 1 mini-usb port works out of 2. When i plug it via usb to my PC, it
prompts "mount"or "cancel". While 1 usb is pluged, i cannot plug a keyboard or a mouse on the other one, it dosent work. Checked everything. it could be the firmware issue, cause on setting and info it shows: Firmware: Unkown.

Android aPad
Rockchip
Red LED / Batch2

I was thinking about making an app in Java to auto-mount.. is it posbible? if not.. how can i update the firmware?

on the root of the tablet i can see the system files and folders. There is a folder on the first screen "Usb1" which is empty.. is it normal? i will unpack the firmware file update.img so i can see what files does restore and how it looks. i have more files to unpack them from Linux. If i can make the 2nd usb port to work.. then it will be easy from there. I will come up with news.

gheist - yes is running Linux. now the website is working, yesterday night no. thanks for reply.

I did figured it out on how to do the flash. By my self. First shutdown the whole apad and turn on the button but don't boot the android. press and hold the home button, which is on upper side. keep holding and while holding plug the miniusb to PC usb. Now the pc will find the drivers [or try, if the pc cannot recognize the device give the specific drivers of your apad] when the PC successfully found the device you can release the finger from home button. Now you can open your flashing tool and start to restore the firmware or update the FW. For me, it turned out that the touchscreen was broken, so i bought a new one. Problem fixed.
