outlook imap sync error with gmail
We had a log in issue with gmail a few days ago. Now that it is resolved we can send emails with outlook but cannot receive them. the error message we receive is:
CANNOT DISPLAY THE FOLDER. THIS IS THE ROOT OF AN IMAP STORE. THE ROOT DOES NOT CONTAIN MESSAGES BUT MAY HAVE SUBFOLDERS THAT DO. TO SEE MESSAGES IN THE SUBFOLDERS, DISPLAY THE FOLDER LIST, AND THEN CLICK THE SUBFOLDER."

Do you have a backup of your .pst file? If not, make a copy of it with another extension (like .bak). Search online for pst file repair utilities and give them a try. If no luck, you can contact one of the for pay companies. Locate one that doesn't charge if unsuccessful. If the mail is unimportant, just create a new .pst file and from now on backup regularly.
